Challenges and Lessons Learned

Bridging independent work into a cohesive product.

NENA was developed by a team of four as part of a senior software engineering course. While responsibilities were divided among team members, bringing independently built frontend and backend systems together proved more challenging than expected. Differences in assumptions, implementation details, and integration requirements required extensive collaboration to resolve. The experience reinforced the importance of communication in software development. Through regular discussions, testing sessions, and collaborative problem-solving, our team successfully unified the project into a polished final product. It also provided my first essential exposure to how frontend and backend systems communicate, giving me practical experience working across the entire application stack.
